Adab Al-Basrah Journal is published on a quarterly basis by the distinguished College of Arts at the University of Basrah. The primary aim of the journal is to disseminate the outcomes of original research and scholarly articles in the domains of Literature and Language for both Arabic and English, History, Geography, Information and Knowledge Techniques, Philosophy, Translation Studies (Arabic & English), Sociology, and other humanities disciplines.
Adab Al-Basrah Journal receives submissions in English language only to facilitate the coherence and strength of citations employed by researchers in studies written in English language and elevate the credibility of the respective research and the academic standing of the researcher. As for research articles related to the departments of the Arabic language and its literature, it is exempt from this condition, necessitating the preservation of these studies in their native Arabic language.
Established in 1968, the journal holds a prominent place in the academic landscape, having been institutionalized soon after the establishment of the College of Arts.
